There was once a King in Bhutan, he was on a state visit in Japan in the year 1968.
The Japanese king asked the King from Bhutan: "what has your country to export?"
The King from Bhutan answered: "actually not much, we do export only little rice to India,
nothing else." The king from Japan was a big stamp collector, and so he recommended:
"What about making beautiful stamps!?" And stamps were manufactured, not quite ordinary,
they were made in France for Bhutan. That was in the year 1969. Even today after thirty
years Bhutan opens only very slowly to the remaining world.
Only since 1999 e.g. Bhutan has his own state television.

Each displayed stamp was manufactured during 1969 and 1973.
